Lasergrips are the ONLY handgun accessories that give you an instant edge from the moment you put them on your gun.

In my opinion, Crimson Trace Lasergrips are the best choice for anyone desiring to equip his or her handgun with a laser sight. I have Lasergrips installed on all of my duty/defensive sidearm and consider them to be an essential accessory. Lasergrips can save lives and reduce liability exposure.

I've found that both my first shot from the holster, and my split times drop significantly when using the laser at any range, and my groups are actually smaller-even at accelerated speed.

The Lasergrips sighting system by Crimson Trace has added a whole new dimension to my handgun hunting. Using a S&W .44 Magnum, I have successfully harvested a trophy 25-point chocolate fallow deer and a 23-inch main beam, white dall ram. Also, using a Mark II Ruger fitted with Lasergrips; I have spent many an enjoyable hour collecting rabbits and squirrels for the pot. This is handgun shooting/hunting at its very best.

In my opinion, the S & W J-Frame revolver equipped with this unit has to be considered as the ultimate in a police backup gun or civilian type weapon carried for defensive purposes.

I love them; I stake my life on my Lasergrips system every night on patrol and I don't want to EVER work the street without them again!

If I were a police officer today, I wouldn't consider going on patrol or walking a beat without a CRIMSON TRACE equipped firearm. I use a Crimson Trace equipped training gun in every class I teach. I can now teach my alternative sighting techniques in moments. It used to take the better part of a day. It's a great time saver.
--Jim Cirillo, retired NYPD and US Customs

When split seconds count, and the price of failure may be counted in lives lost, the value of a reliable laser system is unequaled. After testing the many systems available, I finalize on CRIMSON TRACE LASERS for my own handguns. They give you the advantage when losing is unacceptable. A must-have addition for home defense or duty carry.

I don't usually spend money on items that don't relate to my farm needs. These grips do help with predator control and in self-protection. I feel more self-assured about my shooting. Many thanks…

I set up various scenarios to test the LASERGRIPS, including crowd situations with a gunman 'lurking' behind innocent bystanders and also hostage situations... In each case, I found that I could engage and place the shot faster with the LASERGRIPS [than with fixed sights].
--Leroy Thompson (Combat Handguns)

I bought three of your sights almost a year ago to be used on our school guns. I put one of your J-frame sights on my Smith 442. I have carried that gun everywhere and exposed it to all possible elements. I shoot it several times a month during my schools to demonstrate the sight's ability in low light conditions. It has never failed and still has the original batteries in it. It still remains zeroed. It is a truly remarkable product.
--William H Rogers, Rogers Shooting School

Together [the employee/owners of Crimson Trace] have created, solely through their own sweat and dedication to excellence, what can only be described as the breakthrough laser sighting system… Comparing CTC's products to other lasers is like comparing a WW1 Spad to an F-15 Eagle - they both fly, but what a difference!
--A'Tow Avon (American Survival Guide)

Being in the Law Enforcement field, I have had several occasions to use my laser and find it to be an added asset to my weapon. I never would have believed the difference it would make both to myself and the subjects I have had to use it on. This is one product that lives up to its claims. I am glad I chose CRIMSON TRACE over one of the others…

Below are comments from a few of our customers

I have really changed my opinion of your product after having an opportunity to use them myself. The ability to successfully engage an attacker immediately from uncomfortable or awkward positions that would normally preclude the ability to utilize a sight picture (CQB) is a tremendous asset.

Yesterday I went to the range and had the laser sight adjusted as per my fixed integral sights. I decided to try it first from the waist two handed and squeeze as I would target shooting. The range 20 plus feet. I fired three shots - group size 1 1/8 inch. After that I shot fast and of course the group opened but I was still deadly. Oh shades of Ed Mc Givern!!! Shooting from the waist instinctively without Lasergrips I would hate to guarantee that I could hit a man. Maybe the law enforcement people think your grips are great but the semi-trained private citizen should even like them better….They are 120%.
--D.G.

FABULOUS job on my Model 10 Lasergrips!!! Tried it out at the range last night. Ooohs and aaahs all over the place <grin>. I brought the target into work this morning and showed it to a couple of gun guys. They were in shock that I was actually 25 yards away. Hell, I still can't elieve it myself! Thanks again.
--Cya, Mark

Congratulations on the announcement of the new lasers for numerous revolvers addressed in the June Shooting Times. My recent CCW re-qualification testing in Calif.( utilizing a S/W 60 w/ Lasergrips) has convinced me that you are now well positioned in one of the few growing gun markets. I'm convinced that the majority of serious CCW holders/ Home Defense users would be well server with Lasergrips.

In addition to the deterrent/intimidation effect of a laser beam, your product permits the shooter to look at the target. I have spent the last 20 years training myself to look at my front sight. The problem is that looking at the sight rather than the target is counter-intuitive, and I don’t know if I’ll be cool enough in a fire-fight to do it. Additionally, in a fire-fight, my target is likely to be moving. It is extremely difficult to flick back and forth between an erratically moving opponent and my front sight. With a laser--no problem.
--Bill, Stockbridge, Georgia

Lasergrips proved themselves to be a high quality product, fully capable of performing their intended function. Although transitioning from open sights to laser sights took some time, once accomplished, I would not want to go back to non-laser sighting for self-defense or other “business” work. In addition to speed and accuracy improvements, the Lasergrips gave me a significant boost in confidence that I will be able to hit what I’m aiming at under adverse conditions. Another immediately apparent benefit of using the Lasergrips is the technique of keeping both eyes open during the target acquisition, verification, and shooting process. Having both eyes open allowed for greater awareness of events in the peripheral vision area.

I also found the Lasergrip very useful as a training aid in point shooting practice. I would start with the pistol holstered, select a target, draw and point. I would then activate the laser and observe how close the laser dot was to my intended point of aim. Repetition of this trial and error process resulted in a significant improvement in rapid “point-aiming” technique.

I have become a believer in the benefits of laser sighting and specifically, the Lasergrip product. The Crimson Trace Lasergrip proved itself to be well designed, easy to install, comfortable to operate, and a great confidence builder.

Dear Sir,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and all the hard-working people at Crimson Trace for the fine product you produce. I bought my Laser system earlier this year and have had the occasion twice since that time to use it. The first time was about five months ago. My partner and I received information that a wanted felon was staying at a local motel. He was supposed to be dealing Methamphetamine and armed. We used a ruse on the telephone to confirm he was in the room and then attempted contact. It was about 11:00 p.m. and very dark. I knocked on the door of the room, and the suspect immediately answered. (It should be noted here that the suspect had told the informant that he was not going to go back to prison.)

The suspect was standing in the doorway and had a distinct advantage over me due to the fact that the doorway had three steps leading up to it and I was standing on the ground. As soon as the suspect opened the door, I recognized him from his “mug shots”. I presented my Crimson Trace Laser grip equipped Colt .45 caliber and placed the dot directly on his chest. He momentarily looked at the weapon, then at his chest, and immediately stared raising his hands in compliance with my voice commands. He was taken into custody without incident. A search of the room revealed a 9mm Beretta within arms reach of the door and over 78 grams of Methamphetamine. There is no doubt in my mind that the arrest was uneventful due largely to the laser dot the suspect saw on his chest.

The second incident was just last week. In my current assignment as the supervising Sergeant for the Yuma Squad of the State Gang Task Force (a multi-agency task force also known as GITEM),I find myself dealing with mostly gang members. Most are fairly respectful of my Squad due to our “zero tolerance” reputation. There are a few members however, that just don’t learn. In this case, I attempted to stop one of these gang members riding a bicycle. He refused to stop until I forced him (with my patrol vehicle) off the street and into a bush. He bailed off the bicycle and ran. I followed him around a travel trailer parked in a yard. As I came around the corner, he stopped and turned to face me. My first thought was that he was about to attack. In retrospect, I believe he turned toward me because my partner had come around the other side of the trailer. As before, it was very dark. I had drawn my weapon as I entered the yard. When I confronted him, he was less than six feet away. I pointed my weapon center mass and ordered him to the ground. I could see clearly in the beam of my flashlight that his eyes got as big as half dollars as he looked at my weapon. His head immediately bent forward and down. I can only imagine he was trying to determine where the laser dot terminated. In only a matter of seconds, he must have understood the answer. He dropped to the ground. He was then handcuffed and taken into custody. As before, I can absolutely assure you, and anyone else for that matter, that the reason there was no further attempt to resist from this person was that intimidating dot on his chest.

In closing, I would like to again thank you for your product and for helping me do my job safer with added insurance that I can go home at the end of the shift. I have spoken highly of you and your product and will continue to encourage my peers to look into Lasergrips.

Very Gratefully Yours,

--Al, Arizona Department of Public Safety

I, for one, am sold on the benefits; especially in the area of increasing visual awareness of threats--not having to maintain the standard sight plan which obscures view downrange, or using a modified ready to see and having to come up to shoot. Knowing that the round will impact where the laser is pointing allows for using a modified stance giving complete and clear visual acquisition of the threat and it’s immediate area while maintaining center mass cover. This increases situational awareness and does not detract from good round placement in firing because one knows the red dot is where the muzzle is pointing and the rounds will impact.
--James, Marion County Sheriff’s Office

Dear Crimson Trace,

I just purchased LG-207 grips for my S&W Model 637 pistol. I am so happy with this sight. It’s so precise, I can’t miss. I want to the range and people were amazed how my short barrel pistol hit the center of the target on the mark. They had scoped pistols and couldn’t hit center as well as I could. No one had seen anything like this. Everyone wants to hit what they aim at. Thank You.
--Jack, Merrillville, IN

I have shown the Lasergrips to my three sons and they all fell in love with them. My wife is also an FFL licensed dealer and has remarked on how sellable these would be.
--Gerald

I recently acquired a Crimson Trace Laser for my MK II pistol and strongly recommend them for anyone with failing eyesight. They sure improve accuracy.
--Bernard, Canton, NY

To all with Crimson Trace, thank you for your “EXCELLENT” products. I purchased (2) of your laser grips (J-frame) for my 3” S&W Airlite .22 and a S&W Bodyguard Airweight. Both products have functioned beyond my hopes and dreams. As of yet, I haven’t had to replace the batteries. As a NRA certified instructor, the Lasergrips have been most helpful to new students. I will continue to do my best to promote your products.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my Christmas card and found a gift certificate for the installation of a Crimson Trace Laser GLS-630 laser sight.

I shipped my Glock 23 to Crimson Trace and got super detailed workmanship and the Glock was returned in only 10 days.

The laser sight is unbelievable. At night you can see the beam for at least 500 yards, and during the daytime there’s no problem with normal target distances. Inside the house, the crimson dot, if needed, would be a real intimidation factor.

The Crimson Trace Laser is the best money can buy. There are cheaper ones on the market, but if you want one that really works, I recommend Crimson Trace.
--Kenneth, Oregon

The intimidation factor that the Crimson Trace Laser provides is tremendous. Time and time again it has de-escalated lethal force encounters to controllable situations.

Our department approved the use of laser assisted sighting devices approximately two years ago. My initial reaction was that of simply a “new toy” on the market for officers to play with. The officers who underwent our departments’ in-field evaluation were held to complete daily evaluations of its effectiveness. During this testing phase, I witnessed how quickly an officer could de-escalate a potential deadly force situation. My second concern of the laser devices on the market were accuracy, dependability and user friendliness. Most laser devices require installation from a professional and a loss of confidence in accuracy in the event the weapon was dropped. Your corporation has answered my prayers! I installed my CTC Lasergrip the minute I received it. Sighting alignment was simple and my final adjustment was completed at our range.

Last night while at work, I assisted a neighboring law enforcement officer. It appeared he was on a traffic stop with his gun drawn. I pulled up next to him an was advised his area was investigating an attempt homicide/shooting. The vehicle he stopped with the multiple suspects inside matched the description of the crime. With myself as the back-up officer, the deputy began ordering the driver out with his hands up. The driver somewhat complied an dropped his hands down several times. It appeared the driver was thinking this was a joke! My gun was drawn, however I had not activated my laser. The deputy continued commands when the driver suddenly placed his right hand under his shirt. I immediately activated my Lasergrip placing the dot on his forehead and lowering it to his chest. The driver saw the light dot going down to his chest which caused him to FULLY comply with the deputy’s commands. The other occupants in the vehicle also saw the laser light and complied without hesitation. All were taken into custody without further incident.

The above incident was a potential justified reason to use deadly force. I firmly believe that without my Lasergrips, a shooting would have occurred. The driver told me he though it was a “big joke’ until I placed the light on him. The deputy was envious of my laser and hoped his agency would eventually be allowed to carry laser devices.

In closing, in the time I have owned Lasergrips, they have paid for themselves tenfold. I also think they have saved our city thousands and/or millions of dollars from potential investigation and court costs.

FIELD TEST: Our test gun was a 1960’s vintage Model 36 “Chief’s Special” featuring a 2” barrel and standard fixed sights; no modifications had been made to the gun, and its trigger pull was the same as the day it left the factory. Baseline accuracy was established using iron sights and a sandbag rest, with he target placed at 25 feet. Using 148 Grain semi-wadcutter reloads, I was able to keep five shots within 1 ½”. The bullet’s point of impact was one inch to the right of point of aim, acceptable accuracy considering this gun’s short sight radius and intended use. The Lasergrips were installed on the gun and the laser beam was adjusted so that its ‘dot’ appeared just above the front sight at 25 feet. Lighting conditions were overcast and the laser’s dot was visible out to 50 yards or more. Using a ½’ green adhesive label was an aiming point, I fired 5 rounds, producing a single ragged hole 1 inch to the right of point of aim. This group measured about ¾”, a testament not only to the accuracy of the Crimson Trace Lasergrip, but also to the quality and inherent accuracy of S&W’s J-Frame. Fine tuning the laser’s windage and elevation adjustment would have brought the laser and bullet impact points into perfect alignment, this was not deemed necessary and no further adjustments were made during the tests. Given a sophisticated trigger pull and match ammo, the laser-equipped Chief’s Special would turn into a small target revolver, but this is not the use originally envisioned for this arm and I moved on to more pragmatic testing. Draw, aim and fire exercises were the next order of business and it was apparent that both I and the several onlookers, recruited for this phase of the testing ( I didn’t have to ask twice), were immediately able to reduce our target acquisition times by 1/10th of a second or more when using the laser. This was no surprise, as the laser dot eliminates the necessity of obtaining a perfect sight picture, a difficult proposition if your eyes are as old as mine! And interesting feature of the laser is it’s graphic display of muzzle movement during double action shooting. Our Chief’s Special had a stiff DA trigger and the laser dot would dance around the bull’s eye in an elliptical orbit with each trigger pull, thanks to the instant visual feedback provided by the laser, shooters were quickly able to compensate and keep their shots in the black. After several timed draw and fire exercises, I found not only my speed increasing but my accuracy as well. One 5 shot group put 4 rounds in a 3 hole string with the 5th round striking only a third of an inch off from the previous 4. The group size was actually smaller than that produced when the gun was fired from a sand bag rest using iron sights!

The final phase of testing, instinct or hip shooting, places me in a gray area. For reasons both pragmatic and litigious the Crimson Trace Corporation represents their Lasergrips as auxiliary aiming devices not intended to supplant a gun’s factory sights. This is perfectly acceptable when Lasergrips are used on the larger, more sophisticated, duty handguns carried by uniformed law enforcement officers. These professionals are in the business of overt law enforcement and are faced by a different set of dynamics than plain clothes officers and concealed carry civilians. In both instances, but especially with regard to concealed carry civilians, the firearm is a last ditch defensive weapon and not an enforcement tool. In some municipalities, civilians are forbidden to deploy a gun until their life is in imminent danger, i.e. the attack is already in progress. The result is that there is not time to acquire a sight picture; often there is less than two seconds to draw and fire. Under these circumstances, the laser becomes the only sighting device available. And, so with apologies to the Crimson Trace Corporation (and without their endorsement), I’ll continue.

Lest one become confused, instinct shooting, or as western folk call it “hip shootin’” is not much a formal discipline like Combat Shooting as it is an art. On simply draws the firearm and fires from waist level in one quick, smooth motion, depending on hand/eye coordination to hit the target, or as one cowpoke explained it to me, “Yer grab fur yer belly blaster and go ter pumpin’ lead!” A target was fixed to a plywood board at a distance of seven feet from the shooter, who when signaled, drew and fired from the hip. Without the laser, this proved a difficult target to hit, and I embarrassed myself by completely missing the target on almost every occasion. With the Lasergrip in place, however, it was a different story. The first few times I drew and fired actually took longer than expected because I was so far off target. Eventually did hit the mark and quickly improved my scores.

CONCLUSION: In thirty years as an active shooter I have never seen any product or technique improve a shooter’s performance like Crimson Trace’s Lasergrip. This is a quantum leap forward both as a defensive weapon sight and as a marksmanship training aid. In the past 47 years, 30 models of the S&W J-Frame have been transformed by the Lasergrip into a 21st century revolver.
